Flat roofs are a speciality of ours, and we cover installations, maintenance and repairs across Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, North Birmingham and South Staffordshire. That’s why we focus on prompt, dependable solutions that keep your flat roof watertight and performing as it should.
Flat Roof Systems We Install

FAQ: Flat roofs
-
We install a range of systems, including torch-on felt, GRP fibreglass, EPDM rubber (such as Firestone), single ply membranes, mastic asphalt and liquid coatings. [Edit to match the systems TPM actually offers.]
-
There’s no single best option. The right choice depends on the size and shape of the roof, how it’s used, the look you want and your budget. Torch-on felt is a proven, hard-wearing choice, GRP is seamless and tough, and EPDM is flexible and long-lasting. We’ll talk through the options and recommend the best fit for your property.
-
GRP (glass reinforced plastic) is a resin and fibreglass system applied on site to form a seamless, waterproof surface. It’s strong, lightweight and well suited to extensions, garages, dormers and balconies.
-
EPDM is a synthetic rubber membrane supplied in large sheets, often with few or no joins. It’s flexible, resists UV and weather, and is a popular choice for domestic flat roofs.
-
Torch-on felt is a bitumen-based system laid in two or three layers, which are bonded together using heat. It’s a traditional, cost-effective and reliable way to waterproof a flat roof.
-
Warning signs include water stains on ceilings, damp patches, ponding (standing water that doesn’t drain), blistering, cracks, splits, lifting edges and visible wear. A repair is often enough for localised damage, while widespread or recurring problems usually point to replacement. We’ll inspect the roof and give you an honest recommendation.
-
Clear leaves and debris from the surface and outlets, check for ponding or damage after storms, and have any problems looked at early. Avoid walking on the roof unless it’s been designed for foot traffic, and never climb onto it yourself without proper safety measures.
-
